Federal Government of Pakistan has increased the monthly grant of Benevolent Fund since 01-09-2012 but PTCL didn’t implement the same and Widows are deprived of said increase.

Subject: AMENDMENT IN FEDERAL EMPLOYEES BENEVOLENT FUND & GROUP INSURANCE RULES-1972.
A copy of Establishment Division’s Notification No.F.No.5/15/2011-Admn-111 dated 07th November, 2012 regarding amendment made in Rules-6 and 24 is forwarded herewith for implementation w.e.f. 1.9.2012.- In the above Rules, the following amendments have been made:-
i) The minimum rate of monthly Benevolent Grant has been raised to Rs.4,000/= with the maximum of Rs.10,100/=. per month as per column (5) of the Sixth Schedule.
ii) The rate of monthly contribution has been raised from 2% to 2.40% of Basic Pay without maximum limit as per column (4) of the Sixth Schedule.
iii) The monthly Benevolent Grant of the beneficiaries who are in receipt of monthly grant on 31.8.2012 has been increased by 40% of grant w.e.f. 1.9.2012.
iv) The amount of Farewell Grant as admissible under Rule-24 of FEBF & GI Rules-1972 shall be paid to an employee if he proceeds on retiring pension after twenty years service.
2. As per amended Rule-6, the rates of monthly contribution towards Federal Employees Benevolent Fund have been revised w.e.f. 1.9.2012, therefore, the monthly deduction of Federal Employees Benevolent Fund should be made w.e.f. 1.9.2012 as per revised rates mentioned in column (4) of Sixth Schedule (copy enclosed). Amount of monthly contribution alongwith arrears deducted from the pay bills of employees may kindly be remitted into the relevant account of FEB & GI Fund as per the prescribed procedure.
